Moon in Cancer & What it means for you!

What a Moon in Cancer means for you...

The water sign Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The Moon greatly influences the personality, the subconscious and the emotions, and molds instinctual behavior. The lunar influences are strongest when focused through the sign of cancer where they are most easily expressed. When the Moon is in Cancer it is time of intense emotions and great sensitivity. We may find ourselves responding to life through our emotions rather than reason. During this very vulnerable period, be careful not to emotionally wound others or allow yourself to be wounded. Generally people will be easygoing, sentimental, passive, loving and nurturing. Unfortunately, this motherly expression of caring is often expressed with food and it is easy to overeat.

Cancer is a nurturing sign and the most fertile sign in the zodiac. With the Moon in Cancer, it is a good time for creating life and growth.

Moon in Gemini & What it means for you!

What a Moon in Gemini means for you...

While the Moon is in the dualistic sign of Gemini, you may never make up your mind. With the Gemini ease of seeing both sides of everything we feel more adaptable, changeable and talkative. Gemini is ruled by Mercury which makes this a time for communication. It is a good time to write, to take care of tasks which resemble mathematical puzzles, to make speeches, or just to let your ideas fly through the clouds. Intellectual pursuits and mind games may become more prominent than practical concerns.

People begin to feel restless and there is an inclination to rationalize emotions. A spontaneous tongue may hastily express things which are only true for the moment.

Moon in Taurus & What it means for you!

What a Moon in Taurus means for you...

As the Moon moves into Taurus, the aggressive, charging Aries ram mellows into a solid, placid bull. Keep in mind the phrase "bull-headed", as people will now tend to become very cautious and unchanging. Be aware of these tendencies toward stubbornness. There is a feeling that it is necessary to protect the status quo-what one already has (the key phrase for Taurus is "I have"). The need for financial and material security is strong. When the Moon is in Taurus, take time to continue or conclude projects already started.

Taurus is ruled by Venus, so this would be a good rime to enjoy and appreciate the earthly beauty which surrounds us.

Moon in Aries & What it means for you!

What a Moon in Aries means for you...

When the Moon pass through Aries, which is ruled by Mars, people are highly enthusiastic. It is a period of ambition and energetic activity. It is a good time for beginning projects and for instigating change. Be aware the desire for change will more likely be based upon impulse rather than reason. Be cautious of temperamental flare-ups and selfishness ("I am" is the key phrase of Aries). With all this forceful energy, it is important to be mindful of the rights of others. Aries, which rules the head, is known for its headstrong behavior. Also, while the Moon is in the sign of Aries we are susceptible to head injuries.

Once in a Blue Moon...what does it really mean?

You've probably heard the expression "once in a blue moon." But what does it really mean?

A Blue Moon is the second full Moon that occurs during one calendar month. Because the Moon's cycle has 29 1/2 days and January, March, May, July, August, October and December have 31 days, sometimes you will see two full Moons in these months. This doesn't happen very often. In fact, it occurs every 2.72 years. So using the expression "once in a blue moon" to mean "rarely" makes sense.

In term of magick, the Blue Moon is a special magickal Moon. You might want to save any really special magick you are planning for the night of the Blue Moon. Some witches use the Blue Moon as a time to set goals for themselves. You can also use the Blue Moon for doing magick for something that you have never done before.

It just so happens that on August 31, 2012 we get a Blue Moon!!

So to help you prepare or gather the things you may need for that special night...we are having a Blue Moon Sale..25% Off everything at Ravens Roost Magick through the month of August!

Moon in Pisces & What it means for you!

What a Moon in Pisces means for you..

Pisces is ruled by Neptune which brings an inclination towards psychic impressions. Imagination is strong. While the Moon is in Pisces there is a heightened sensitivity to music and other intangible forces. There are tendencies to be emotional. spiritual and self-sacrificing.

The Moon in Pisces heightens impressionability which can leave us feeling too vulnerable and drifting into withdrawal for emotional protection. we may be feeling passive, kind, sentimental, gentle, and even cheerful, but we might also be too easily discouraged. Some people experience stirrings from vague memories (often identified as past lives) or insights into the spiritual meaning of current situations during this time.
